WARRANTY & SERVICE

 

Your Kurono watch is warranted for one (1) year from the date of fulfillment. The international warranty covers material and manufacturing defects existing at the time of delivery. During this warranty period, you will have the right to have any defect repaired free of charge.

  • We will need to verify warranty validity & assess eligibility*
  • If approved, we will pick up at our cost your watch for repair
  • We will ship back to you at our cost your repaired watch

*Warranty or service claims within the first six months of receiving your watch by anyone other than the original buyer on record will be rejected.*Warranty for any watches discovered on the resale market within the first six months will be voided.

This manufacturer’s warranty does not cover:

  • Normal wear and tear and aging (e.g. alteration of the color and/or material or non-metallic straps and chains, such as leather, textile, rubber)
  • Any damage on any part of the watch resulting from abnormal/abusive use, lack of care, negligence, accidents (knocks, dents, crushing, broken crystal, etc.)
  • incorrect use of the watch and non-observance of the directions for use provided by Kurono Tokyo
  • The handling of the watch by non-authorized persons

All applicable implied warranties, including the implied warranty of merchantability and of fitness for a particular purpose given to you by law, are hereby limited in duration to the duration of this warranty.

Under no circumstances will Kurono Tokyo, its manufacturer, agents and/or retailers be liable for any indirect or consequential damages of any kind.

Sending in your watch under warranty

If your watch is still under warranty, please send an email to warranty@kuronotokyo.com where necessary arrangements will be made for your warranty claim. If you have purchased it from a major retailer, please send it back to the authorized retailer you have purchased the watch from.

Sending in your watch for service

Every Kurono is built to exacting standards of quality, and is designed so that any competent certified watchmaker will be able to service or repair the watch. Should you prefer to send your watch back to Japan for servicing, we will be happy to receive your watch and provide a quote for such services. Please send an email to warranty@kuronotokyo.com where we will facilitate next steps.

WARRANTY SYSTEM FAQ

What do the warranty statuses mean?

- Confirmed
Warranty validity is confirmed for the coverage period. (Typically 12 months from the date of delivery)

- Rejected
Warranty validity is rejected, whereby either the initial Terms & Conditions of Sale have been contravened; or where the watch has previously been reported or identified with ownership issues.

- Expired
Warranty has expired past the coverage period.

My warranty has expired, how do I renew my warranty?

We are looking into implementing this service in future for all our Kurono Customers.

What is the purpose of this warranty section on the website?

We recently implemented this system to allow our valued customers a one-stop overview of the warranty status of all their timepieces. It is also a system that can give assurance against fraudulent, fake or stolen items.

How do I ensure that I am qualified for the warranty?

Customers will automatically have their timepiece entered into the warranty system upon receiving their timepiece unless the initial Terms & Conditions of Sale have been contravened; or where the watch has previously been reported or identified with ownership issues.

Why is there a registered address in the warranty system?

We have implemented a warranty to be tied to the registered postal code and the name of the account owner. This information can only be viewed by the account owner. This is to prevent the growing number of flippers in the market.

Why is my registered address different from my current address?

The registered address shown in the system will be similar to the shipping address inputted in the system.

How do I update my registered address?

Once an address is registered and linked to the product, customers are unable to change the address. The purpose is to deter any possibility of reselling to secondary market.

Do I need to register my own warranty?

You do not have to register for your own warranty as it will automatically be in your account upon fulfillment.

When can I view my warranty for the watch I purchased?

You will only see the warranty of the watch after it has been shipped out.

Why is my warranty rejected?

Warranty is rejected when you have been found to violate the accepted terms and conditions of sale that you entered into at the point of purchase.

What does the warranty cover?

Kurono warranty covers the watch itself. Damages due to user error is not covered under warranty.
